A few posts back I did a short review of the ammo I have been toying with and carrying most the summer. If you missed the post you can find it here. Well it turns out I’m not the only one excited about what Liberty Ammunition has to offer.

Ryan Roquin from the Gun Runner Podcast managed to get the owner of Liberty and the brains behind these innovative rounds together and put it into a short interview. As usual Ryan puts on a great interview and there is a ton of info stuffed into the show.

I have been listening to the Gun Runner Podcast religiously for well over a year now and have to say it is always at the top of my playlist. Very soon he will be switching over to another new show called Brass Call and when he does I will be sure to let everyone know and add it to the other shows I have recommended.

One last thing I wanted to fill everyone in on that is associated with Ryan and his Podcast is National Ammunition Day on November 4th. There is a Facebook event that Ryan started I encourage everyone to join and also head over and like The Gun Runner Podcast’s Facebook Page. Let him know you heard about him from Absolute BS Blog.

While you are at liking Facebook pages don’t forget your favorite blog.

These guys are fun. The AR-15 Podcast is a weekly show serving up nothing but topics covering Americas favorite black rifle. The hosts, Jake and Reed, deliver an interesting and informative topic each week and follow it up with listener feed back and questions. This show is directed at anyone interested in the AR-15 platform, from the guy still considering his first buy to the guy who has built ten of his own, everyone can find something in each show. I will say coming from an experienced AR builder, there are times when I think a show might be aimed more for the beginner, but I can also say that there hasn’t been a show that I haven’t learned something new or been reminded of something I forgot. At times I have found myself yelling at the radio inside my truck trying to help them remember that word or term that has slipped their mind but I do that with every podcast.

Jake Challand is the producer and the host of a second podcast called Gun Guy Radio. He resides in the unfree state of Illinois and spends what little free time he has building AR-15’s and Ruger 10/22’s. He is also an avid reloader for handguns. In his words he “strives to create the best firearms podcasts on the internet.”

Co host Reed Snyder is a former Marine (once a Marine, always a Marine) from the very free state of Texas and likes to remind Jake exactly how free every show. Reed is also a tax attorney and lawyer by day but we try not to hold that against him. Just like Jake, Reed is an avid shooter and all around AR enthusiast.

The show is sponsored by some big names in the industry, Brownells, Geissele Automatics, and White Oak Armament. I used all three companies in building my long-range AR. Out of my entire gun safe I pick it every time as my favorite. Head over to those sponsors and thank them for helping in bringing great products and great content like this podcast.

This podcast is for anyone who wants a gun show that isn’t going to be shoving politics down your throat for an hour. At some point even the most political of us needs a break from the action and a place to go where we can sit and listen without having to worry about some little news tidbit that is going to get our blood pressure up again. This is my escape, and I recommend this podcast for anyone. You will be able to find the link to the show’s page on the left side along with all the other podcasts I recommend my readers to be listening to.

Remember to subscribe to our email list in the top left corner of the page and head over to our Facebook page to like us on their. 40 more likes to go before someone is winning a custom kydex holster from NUoSU concealment and some really nice paracord bracelets from our reader Ryan.

I’m sorry. That is the only way I know how to start this post. This is podcast is going to lead to headaches, loss of brain cells, and slight drooling from the corner of your mouth.

The Gun Dudes podcast is one of the most addicting I can name. Hosted by Carl “the short man”, “Old man” Stan, “Tactical” Tommy, and Travis “the Red shirt.” Four gun loving UPS employees by day and superhero firearm podcasters by weekend afternoon. If you are looking for an hour of off the wall movie quotes mixed in with good firearms knowledge and a lot of laughs this is your go to show on monday mornings.

Over 225 episodes fill their archives, and I’m not sad to say that I have listened to everyone! Their shows usually stick to a good outline starting with self-defense in the news, followed up with a “misfire award”, after that they hit you with a good show topic, and finally end with listener emails. But if you make it that far be sure you stay conscious for the easter egg that is at nearly every episode. The outtakes are some of the funniest parts and have literally had me in tears more than once.

I think the thing that draws me to this show is the wholesomeness. I can actually feel like I’m there with them hanging out listening in. It’s just like any conversation that me and my shooting buddies are going to have sitting around our local gun club over cups of coffee. The laid back atmosphere they provide along with a level-headed approach to firearms handling, sport shooting, and self-defense is just what anyone can use on a monday morning.

These guys are number one on my playlist every monday and I can’t recommend them highly enough. You can find them and subscribe to them right here or on the ITunes network.

Until next time, subscribe and share often!

As I have said in earlier posts I’m an avid podcast listener. Truly one of my favorites is The Gunfighter cast hosted by Daniel Shaw and John McGregor.

Daniel has over 15 years experience as a Marine infantryman. John has over 20 years of experience as a law enforcement officer. Combined they have about 30 years as firearms instructors and 32 years carrying concealed weapons.

As of 12-23-12 The Gunfighter Cast has exactly 80 episodes of great and insightful information in their archive. Think about that for a minute, nearly 80 hours of discussions from guys who have been there, seen it, and rolled in poop when its gotten thick. Eighty episodes of great first-hand experience from experts. I believe this is only the beginning for these two and their podcast.

Daniel will soon be retired from the Marines and has yet to announce his future plans, but I would assume the firearms industry is ready to accept him with open arms. John also starting his journey into freelance writing with his first published piece appearing in the 2013 issue of Combat Handgun.

I highly recommend this podcast to anyone remotely interested in firearms and self-defense…. unless you wear skinny jeans than you might come away slightly offended.
