I shed no tears on Mr. Gun Control’s departure along with his CNN show. It came as no surprise to me how he signed calling for guns to be limited to the highly skilled and highly trained hands of military personnel.

If you missed the sign off here is the text….

Regular viewers will know that the issue of gun control has been a consistent and often very controversial part of this show. And I want to say something more about that before I bow out.

I have lived and worked in America for much of the past decade. It’s a magnificent country. A land of true opportunity that affords anyone, even British chancers like me, the opportunity to live the American dream. The vast majority of Americans I have met are decent, hard-working, thoroughly dependable people. As my brother, a British Army colonel, says, “You’d always want an American next to you in a trench when the going gets tough.”

But that’s where I think guns belong – on a military battlefield, in the hands of highly trained men and women fighting for democracy and freedom. Not in the hands of civilians. The scourge of gun violence is a disease that now infects every aspect of American life.  Each day, on average, 35 people in this country are murdered with guns, another 50 kill themselves with guns, and 200 more are shot but survive. That’s 100,000 people a year hit by gunfire in America.

Now, I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theater, and then, just a few months later, 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school, that the absurd gun laws in this country would change. But nothing has happened. The gun lobby in America, led by the NRA, has bullied this nation’s politicians into cowardly, supine silence. Even when 20 young children are blown away in their classrooms.

This is a shameful situation that frankly has made me very angry. So angry, in fact, that some people have criticized me for being too loud, opinionated, even rude when I have debated the issue of guns. But I make no apologies for that.

As Sir Winston Churchill said: “If you have an important point to make, don’t try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then, hit it a third time – a tremendous whack.”

My point is simple: more guns doesn’t mean less crime as the NRA repeatedly tries to tell you. It means more gun violence, more death, and more profits for the gun manufacturers. And to those who claim my gun control campaigning has been “anti-American,” well, the reverse is true. I’m so pro-American, I want more of you to stay alive.

But I’ve made my point. I’ve given it a tremendous whack. Now it’s down to you. It is your country; these are your gun laws. And the senseless slaughter will only end when enough Americans stand together and cry: Enough!

I look forward to that day. I also look forward to seeing you all again soon. Thank you and God bless America. Oh, and while I’m at it, God bless Great Britain too. Goodnight.

True douche fashion as you would expect. The only thing I will miss from his show is watching the Youtube clips of Second Amendment supporters using him to mop the floor in debates.

One of the Facebook followers left a message on our wall I will quote it here.

Some people out there that I’ve noticed clam up when Piers Morgan asks them about how many gun murders are happening in the UK or various other places like that. I see a short struggle for the rise in gun violence in the UK, however I don’t think america really knows what violence is.
This includes rape, home invasion, robbery and various other methods of abuse.
So how is it that since 1992, A…merica has seen over a 50% reduction in violent crime not a good enough reason to keep and bear arms? Why is it that since the gun bans in the UK and Australia, the numbers keep rising more and more?
Why is it that none seems to care for those statistics. I would like to see this broken down a little better in the future discussions on tv.
First of all, Piers Morgan is an idiot. Think about it for a minute, you must have a real brass set to walk into another country and tell them that their inherent rights given to them by their founding documents are wrong then try to dictate to them what they need to be doing differently. As you have seen he has been on a quest at trying to find a pro-gun person that is less informed on the gun control issue than he is. So far he has had his ass handed to him by nearly every second and third-rate gun advocate out there. Morgan is doing it for ratings and nothing else, his show has been in trouble for a while and the only time his ratings go up is when people tune in to watch him get pounded in a debate by some hillbilly gun salesman. The reason the guests that Piers has on have such a hard time is because as soon as they start throwing the real numbers and facts out to contradict his bogus claims he talks over them or cuts them off with a question that is so outrageous they must answer it before answering his first question. It’s his show and he is good at dictating the way the conversation flows. Get on Youtube and watch some of the exchanges and you will see that as soon as numbers start to come out he talks over them.
Now lets look at real numbers and facts that never seem to get used enough. Let us start with defining violent crime. According to uslegal.com the most common violent crimes are aggravated assault, arson, assault and battery, domestic violence, hate crimes, homicide, manslaughter, mayhem, murder, terrorism and theft/larceny. Notice the last part, theft/larceny? We need to understand that not all countries have the same definition of violent crime.  After that we need to point out that many of the countries with the strictest gun control have the highest rates of violent crime. Australia and England, which have virtually banned gun ownership, have the highest rates of robbery, sexual assault, and assault with force of the top 17 industrialized countries in 2001 as told to us by a Dutch Ministry study.
Since Piers is where we started, let’s visit his motherland and see how they fare. Britain has the highest rate of violent crime in Europe, more so than the United States or even South Africa. They also have the second highest over all crime rate in the European Union. In 2008, Britain had a violent crime rate nearly five times higher than the United states (446 vs. 2034 pre 100,000 population). Those stats were posted by the UK daily mail on July 3, 2009 where they were citing a report from the European Commission and the United Nations. And here is a kicker–comparing crime rates between America and Britain is not apples to apples. In America, a gun crime is recorded as a gun crime. In Britain, a crime is only recorded when there is a conviction. All unsolved gun crimes in Britain are not reported as gun crimes, seriously undercounting the amount of gun crime there. And as icing on our cake The Daily Telegraph reported in April of 1996 British law enforcement has been exposed for falsifying criminal reports to create falsely lower crime figures to preserve their tourism. One thing that we can compare is 59% of the burglaries in Britain, with their awesome gun control laws, are “hot burglaries” which are burglaries committed while the home is occupied by the owner/renter. Now compare that to the U.S., with more lenient gun control laws, has a “hot burglary” rate of only 13%. Mr. Morgan’s gun free utopia isn’t really what he makes it out to be when we look at those numbers is it?
But where does the U.S. rank is Homicide? We have to be swimming in dead people with all us crazy ‘mericans and our scary guns everywhere right? Wrong. Between 1998 and 2000 the United States wasnt even in the top ten. Columbia, Jamaica, Russia, and Mexico were the top 4 respectively. It is rarely spoke of that the ATF told us 90% of all crimes committed in the United States do not involve firearms of any type, and less than 1% of all firearms will never even be used in the commission of a crime.
Another number I find astonishing is that guns prevent nearly 2.5 million crimes a year or 6,849 every day. Most times the gun is only presented and never actually fired. According to gunfacts.info 550 rapes, 1,100 murders, and 5,200 other violent crimes are prevented every day.  If you think about it that number is probably actually higher than 2.5 million a year for the simple fact that those are the ones “reported.” For example, someone is walking down the street, a robber steps out from the shadows and says “give me all your money.” The citizen pulls out his pistol instead of his wallet and LOL’S at the robber instead. The robber runs away, no shots were fired, the threat is gone, and the encounter is finished quicker than it started. The chances of that person calling the police is extremely low.  Think about how many times a year that or similar situations happen and they all go unreported? My thought is that is you need to call the police for a few reasons, mainly to secure yourself as the victim first instead of the would have been robber calling the police reporting some guy just pulled a gun on him, and to make sure the account was recorded. Just another side note to go along with my example, only 0.01% of defensive uses of a gun result in the death of the aggressor.
Let us look a little closer shall we? How about our nation’s capital, with a gun ban and some of the strictest laws in the nation, it has to be nearly the safest place around right? Again, we are proven that gun control makes nobody safer by a report from the FBI in 1998.  Washington D.C. has essentially banned gun ownership since 1976 and has a murder rate of 56.9 per 100,000. Across the river in Arlington, Virginia, gun ownership is less restricted. There, the murder rate is just 1.6 per 100,000, less than three percent of the Washington, D.C. rate.
But civilians will more than likely shoot innocent bystanders so only professionals should have guns! Umm do you remember the shooting last year (2012) in New York?  Two cops managed to shoot 9 bystanders. Oddly enough about 11% of police shootings kill an innocent person as opposed to about 2% of shootings by citizens kill an innocent person. The odds of a defensive gun user killing an innocent is less than 1 in 26,000. According to Dartmouth you are 5 times more likely to die of the flu than be killed by a defensive gun user.
My favorite part of one of the Morgan videos I watched was one that he kept referring to children. Little does he know that the CDC did a report in 2006 showing 339 children (age 14 and under) died from gunfire in all of 2006. This includes homicides and accidents combined. Don’t think that I am trying to take away the meaning of children’s lives but your kid has more of a chance to commit suicide over being killed by gunfire. The National Institute of Mental Health says that in 2007 children from the ages of 10-14 had a suicide rate of .09 per 100,000.  If Morgan was so concerned about kids he would be trumpeting Facebook control and not gun control. And just to step outside the U.S. and take a look at what the United Nations said in 1998 that 1,917 children died each day just from malaria.

The last thing I want to point out is that the Columbine shooting happened in the height of the previous assault weapons ban. What would a new ban that is admittedly similar to the last do to prevent another from happening? The Columbine shooter together broke 20 laws to pull off their massacre. Would a 21st law have made a difference? Absolutely not. People who want to do these horrific acts will stop at nothing to carry out what they set out to do, and no law will stop a person willing to give their life for their unjust cause.

Thanks for reading and sorry for the delay. It appears that WordPress mobile app will only support up to 1500 words and erase the rest even though it was typed on a laptop if you try to publish the post from there. Awesome! Well it is fixed now and back up. Make sure to share with your friends and encourage likes on our Facebook page. As soon as we hit 150 likes we are giving away some more free stuff. We have two readers donating some things for the giveaway and someone is going to walk away with some pretty nice new gear but that is all I’m going to say for now.

Thanks again,
