A man who trumpeted gun control and assisted with New York’s SAFE Act was found to be in possession of a gun on school property last Thursday. If that isn’t enough irony for you he is labeled as a key figure in the adding making it a FELONY to posses a gun on school property. Woops! But as we have discussed many times before the laws are only for the little people.

Of course Dwayne Ferguson had a carry permit because they are so easy to get in New York being “may issue” and all. Just like you would expect the elitist take care of their own and this instance is no exception. The amount poetic justice in the article linked to above is almost too much for me to handle. The two felony charges carry a maximum sentence of 4 years in state prison.

There are plenty of great quotes in the article so I urge everyone to read it for a good Monday morning laugh. The sad part is if the offender was your run of the mill citizen they would have been painted much differently in this news story. There wouldn’t be activists running out in defense saying it was an honest mistake, instead they would be claiming a victory in taking an irresponsible gun owner off the street. Let us not for get…. The laws are for the little people.

When you look at news surrounding gun rights this week it would appear we have really taken a swift kick to the balls, and that is partly right. Connecticut signed in to effect a horrible set of laws that go as far as requiring residents to apply for eligibility just to buy ammo. Following the “Constitution State’s” lead Maryland also went buck nutty and put in place an Assault weapon ban while also capping mag limits at 10 rounds. Couple the loss of freedoms in those states along with the United Nations passing an Arms Trade Treaty the week has been kinda gloomy.

Not all is lost though. I’m not all about doom and gloom today. We need to look at our two lost states in another way. Connecticut already had an Assault weapons ban prior to the Sandy Hook tragedy that is often overlooked by the mainstream news. (Big Surprise) Also we need to point out that if you look up the Brady campaign rankings of states with the “strongest” laws Connecticut was 5th and Maryland was 7th over all in 2011. We never really lost ground folks, these states have been this way for a while but the giant media spot light wasnt pointed at them while they wave flags made of bloody shirts of innocent school kids. Moving on to the U.N. Arms Treaty, the President said he will sign it but the Senate has already said they won’t even consider it. A senator from Kansas has a resolution out there in the senate with 34 backers right now saying that the senate will not ratify any Arms Treaty even if it is signed by the president.

Let’s looks at this from a different perspective now. The sub-title for a Wall street journal article says “Since Newtown Massacre, More States Ease Regulations Than Bolster Them.” Sounds a little more up lifting right? Looking deeper we see Arkansas is now allowing teachers and staff to carry on campuses. You can see in this graphic that 9 other states along with Arkansas have opted to weaken gun control and put freedom back into their state. One thing about the graphic is a couple of the laws that they say strengthen gun control is a bit of a stretch. Take the new law from Wyoming for instance, it states that it “Would allow a judge to carry a weapon in his courtroom and prohibit someone else from carrying a weapon in his or her courtroom.” I don’t call that strengthening gun control but it is their neat little map so they can do what they want, right?

We need to keep contacting our reps and stay vigilant. The mainstream media has their winners and losers already picked and it is obvious who they are rooting for so don’t let them get you down. Stay strong and keep your head up. This is the other sides last stand, they know that this is their opportunity and it is obvious. Click over to CNN and you can see that they have now turned all their programming into a 24/7 anti gun marathon. They are getting desperate. They are claiming victories in states that have already been wildly anti-gun for over 2 years. They are trying to create false momentum for themselves and we wont let it happen. Again stay strong and contact your representatives.

New York Gun Tip Line

Apparently this has been in existence for some time now. It has come to recent light after the governor drew attention to it following his ramming through of some very unpopular gun laws. While it is not the first program of its kind and probably won’t be the last, it still raises many questions that go unanswered. Not only does this pit neighbor vs neighbor now but even further widens the gap between the ruling elites and the commoners.

The great thing about this tip line is the number works all around the country and is toll-free. I recommend calling and asking a few questions such as what if someone cuts me off in traffic and I see a scary NRA bumper sticker. Now I pretty much know they have a gun can I call with their license plate number and have the last laugh as they could get stripped of their second and fourth amendments?

Not only is it creepy it is very Gestapo like to me, but instead of secret police it is that one neighbor you let your dog shit in his yard one to many times on late night walks.

Finally we see some level common sense coming from New York and it is being displayed by the New York Supreme Court. The court stated that unless the state can prove the new SAFE Act is in fact constitutional by April 29th they will have no choice but to issue an injunction. If an injunction would be placed it could pave the way for citizens to challenge the already standing Assault Weapons Ban in place in New York. The state is going to have a rough time proving it constitutional with the recent US Supreme Court that firearms “in common usage” cannot be restricted.

Score one for the good guy!

Another company showing New York that actions have consequences. I still hope there is more to come.

From York Arms website:

We have chosen to extend that prohibition to all governmental agencies associated with or located within New York. As a result we have halted sales of rifles, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, machine guns, and silencers to New York governmental agencies.
