Norse mythology comes from a northern Germanic peoples more commonly known as Vikings. It consists of tales of various deities, beings, and heroes that are still found and heard of through out modern tales to this day. There is a group of beings that I have always been interested in that I never thought got enough credit and that is the Valkyries and I wanted to take a little bit to talk about their significance and how they tie into my future plans.

A Valkyrie is an angel like female creature that would walk the battle fields during battle and select which warriors live and died. Of the chosen slain the Valkyries again would select the best of the warriors and take them to dine with the god Odin and await the great battle of Ragnarök.

Now I know most of you are sitting there and asking yourself what do angel-like beings have to do with this blog? Think about the reason we carry a firearm. Any self-defense could be potentially be a life or death situation. If we follow the myth of the Valkyrie it is not going to go well for one of the persons involved. The end goal is not to be chosen by the Valkyries, so how do we go about avoiding that selection? We select the equipment that fits us the best, we train, we run drills, we study, and we take classes. It is up to us to choose a training company that will offer us the best training and skillsets to make sure that when the battle is finished and the Valkyries have made their choice you are the one still standing to go home to your family.

The best is yet to come. Stay tuned and remember the significance of the Valkyrie.

Watch for more announcements next week,
