Back In Business/Weekend Round Up

Well I’m back from my short absence armed with a brand new Toshiba and ready to get back into the blogging routine.

This last weekend was a busy one for me. It mainly consisted of assisting with a concealed carry class on Saturday but I also got a few new toys I wanted to share. First, I want to welcome the few new readers that were gained from the class. The weather was the best it has been for a class that I have instructed so far and it was a great day on the range. Everyone from the class left shooting better than when they came and for me that is the most important part.

Saturday before the class I had the chance to test out the new sights on my Glock. I ended up going with Truglo TFO’s. I liked the idea of tritium and fiber optics for low light/no light situations. If you are following AbsoluteBS on Facebook you got to see some pics of the transformation.

I decided to splurge and go with the yellow rear and the green front for a small increase in price.

I am really happy I decided to go with the two different colors. In complete darkness it is very easy to pick out the difference between the front and rear which is a big advantage to me. I want to thank my buddy Bob for installing them for me–he earned a public thank you since the rear sight was pretty tight fitting. I will have a full review and better pictures as soon as I can get some real time with them. I want to make sure they are worthy of the Absolute BS seal of approval.

Another Glock upgrade I got was a Glockmeister tungsten guiderod assembly. So far it has worked wonderfully, but again I would like to get some more trigger time before I really sing its praises. It really was much heavier than the stock and I did notice a difference in muzzle flip right out of the gate.

Sunday I met another buddy at the range and helped him sight in his sporterized Mosin Nagant. There is just something about a Mosin for me. It is hard to explain but I just enjoy shooting a piece of history like those, plus the guns are cheap and ammo is still relatively cheap and available.

Last night I was messing around to get the bugs worked out of this new laptop before we start back into the normal writing routine. I am still up in the air about Windows 8 and it is taking me awhile to get everything set up the way I prefer. When I get used to a certain system it takes me a little while to get used to a new one and it slows me down a lot.

So that sums up my weekend. How did you spend yours? Let me know in the comments section below, on Facebook, or over on Shooters Legion.

Thanks for the patience,

BS
