Archive for April, 2013

I think we all know why we don’t hear much about Chicago in the mainstream news. It is their little pet project of Gunfree-ness that has literally blown up in their faces. I found a great blog that in their words “We now bring you news from the
Leftist, gun controlled Plantation”

One of their latest posts show that as of April 26 2013 there have been 106 homicides and 510 shootings. Kind of baffling right? With a city and state that has some of the harshest gun control laws in the nation, you would think there would be rainbows and unicorns frolicking in the streets. Instead of unicorns we have blood, the same thing that the anti’s claim will happen everytime we loosen gun rights elsewhere.

On Monday Magpul rolled out their new version of their back up sights. The rear sight features an all-steel construction. After that it seems to be pretty similar to the previous plastic versions. Selectable large and small apertures, standard AR sight height, and a low-profile windage adjustment knob. The rear sight again features an all steel construction. Another new feature is a no tools required elevation adjustment knob. As expected, the rear is the standard AR sight’s height. One last interesting feature is when in the down position, the rear sight only takes up less than 1 5/8″ of rail.

Magpul also released another Magpul-dynamics-inspired product. The Magpul 1911 grip panels. The grips were designed in part from feedback from the instructors and feature a diamond shaped cross-section to prevent twisting while shooting.  They also sport an aggressive magazine release cut-out and are compatible with ambidextrous safeties. Made from carbon-reinforced polymer, and only available in carbon gray at this time with additional fitments and materials coming in the future.

Now that the dust has settled we are getting accurate detail of the Boston bombing situation. I don’t want to waste a lot of time talking about it anymore than I already have mainly because this is being shoved down most of America’s throat on every tv and radio station out there right now. I will cut to the chase and just tell you now that everyone that was holding their breath waiting for another backlash on “Assault Weapons” because of the initial shootout that took the life of the elder terrorist can breath a little sigh of relief. Sources have told ABC News that a single gun was found and it was a Ruger 9MM.

Michael Bane had a great blog post on this today explaining how things work in a gun-free paradise. It is a great read and I higly recommend heading over there and letting him know I sent you. Here is a little excerpt from his post:

After those rollicking crazy Boston boys blasted an eight-year-old into
oblivion, they did a little workout at the gym and planned to head to New York
City to party party party. A problemo surfaces…they only had one pistol. I
mean, two terrorists, one pistol, not gonna look good on FaceBook, n’est-ce
pas
? So did the boys race to an Internet cafe to buy maybe a dozen or so
full-auto assault weapons off the Internet, with same-day shipping? Speed to a
LGS for the “Tuesday Terrorist Two-Fer, No NCIS No Way”? Wait for the weekend
gun show where they could stock up on RPGs, grenades and those rifles with the
shoulder thingie that sticks up?

None of
the above
. Instead, they went to the one firearms superstore
where they were sure guns would be in stock…they walked up to the police car
of MIT Officer Sean Collier, killed him in very cold blood and tried to grab his
gun. The reason those lovable Holden Caulfield-esque urchins failed on that task
was that apparently the Islamic Terrorism 101 class on the Internet doesn’t
include retention holsters, disabling of. Don’t worry…I’m sure the curriculum
will be updated any moment now!

Michael has a way of putting things that just impresses the hell out of me.

MDA decided it was a great idea to post up this little beauty:

Mass-Murder-Bingo

Pretty isn’t it? Now if I was looking for some soft targets where would I go? I can’t stop shaking my head at the thought of them thinking this is a good idea.

A recent poll from Fox News shows that 69% of people say that in a situation similiar to Boston’s they would prefer to have a gun in the house. I think I called that on mondays post, but I am actually surprised, I thought it would be higher. Maybe I pander to a better audience who knows that personal security is just that, PERSONAL. We don’t want to have to wait for someone to show up when there is a terrorist knocking on our door asking to be let in.

The anti-gun side is pretty butt hurt over their loss on the senate floor last week still ,and since they cannot let a tragedy go to waste the boston bombing is now the new wave of emotion they are hitching a ride on. Harry Reid introduced the bill S. 792 for Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) on Wednesday.

“It defies common sense that anyone, even a terrorist, can walk into a store in  America and buy explosive powders without a background check or any questions  asked,” Lautenberg said Tuesday. “Requiring a background check for an explosives  permit is a small price to pay to ensure the safety of our communities.

Not only is this for the children this time but it is for the communities. Of course this bill has about an 8% chance of making it out of committee but it 100% proves the anti’s as sore losers. It is comical but at the same time absolutely frightening.
